Always remember. When you go out and about to do a bit of hiking. Take some warm dry kit with you and some water proofs, even in the summer as you never know what is round the corner. Check the weather  forecast. You can do this  on the radio, TV and in the news papers.

Before leaving try to get some local knowledge on the weather for the area you are walking. You can't beat the local knowledge as far as the weather goes, but remember, know matter how much information you gather you can never be 100% sure of what is round the corner so use a bit of common sense and try to find a happy medium. Be prepared if not for the worst, at least for the better.
